TINTA JOURNAL WELCOMES YOU

Tinta Journal is a peer-reviewed journal published annually by the Department of Spanish and Portuguese graduate students at UC Santa Barbara. Founded in 1981 and under the name of Tinta: Research Journal of Hispanic and Lusophone Studies, this publication has already a long tradition despite the intermittent volumes over the years. In 2019, some graduate students worked on the journal’s revitalization, making it more appealing and adapting it to a digital format. The journal dedicates to the publication of unique research on various academic fields, including:
  • literary criticism;
  • language and linguistics;
  • translation;
  • comparative literature; and,
  • interdisciplinary studies.
The articles should be original, unpublished, and not in consideration for publication elsewhere when submission to Tinta. Manuscripts must be submitted in Portuguese, Spanish, Catalan, Galician, or English. We also publish reviews and original literary translations both from and into those languages. The journal can also publish texts from conferences and oral communications previously presented in an academic setting. If you are interested in contributing to Tinta as an author, guest editor, or reviewer, please send your CV or article to spanporttintajournal@gmail.com.
